2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. IONOS may process technical request information such as IP address, access time, requested resource, referrer, browser, operating system, response status and transferred data to deliver the site, maintain security and diagnose errors.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in secure and reliable website operation. The actual retention period follows the hosting configuration and contract.
3. Quote generator and browser storage
The generator processes selected filters and the displayed quotation in the visitor's browser. No account is required. The English library is retrieved by the WordPress server from the QuoteSlate dataset and the English Quotes dataset by Abir ELTAIEF on Hugging Face. The German library is retrieved from the Wikiquotes German dataset by CareTech OWL on Hugging Face, derived from German Wikiquote. WordPress validates fields, excludes explicitly flagged or malformed records, removes duplicates, caches the language-specific result on the website server and delivers it from this domain. Visitors do not contact the dataset hosts directly.
For performance and resilience, the browser may store language-specific quotation data and a timestamp under a key beginning with tqg-quote-library-v5- for up to seven days. The storage supports the generator requested by the visitor and can be removed through the browser's site-data controls.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on a device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and device identifiers. They may provide essential functions, remember privacy choices, measure website use or support advertising.
Strictly necessary technologies support security, consent records and services explicitly requested by the visitor. Functional technologies provide optional convenience features. The theme does not load advertising code by itself. If Google AdSense is activated, Google and participating advertising providers may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, IP addresses, browser and device information, and other identifiers to deliver ads, prevent fraud, limit frequency, measure performance, create reports and personalize advertising where valid consent has been given.
Third parties may place and read cookies in the visitor's browser or use web beacons and IP addresses as a result of ad serving. Google's advertising cookies may be associated with domains including doubleclick.net or Google domains.

Non-essential advertising or analytics storage must remain disabled until the required consent has been recorded.
